Smoked Crab Legs

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 lbs King or Snow crab legs (thawed, if frozen)

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 Garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood rub)

  • 1 Lemon (cut into wedges for serving)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your Smoker to 225°F using Apple or Maple wood.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, and Old Bay seasoning.

  3. Arrange the crab legs in a large disposable aluminum foil pan in a single layer to ensure even smoke exposure.

  4. Brush the garlic-butter mixture generously over the crab legs, making sure some gets into any cracked joints.

  5. Place the foil pan directly onto the smoker grates.

  6. Smoke for 30 to 45 minutes, just until the crab meat is thoroughly hot and steaming (since commercial crab legs are pre-cooked, you are just infusing smoke flavor and heating them through).

  7. Remove from the smoker and serve immediately with the remaining garlic butter and lemon wedges.
