Smoked Burger

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is recommended for juiciness)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Topping Ideas: Sliced cheese of your choosing, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles

  • Burger buns

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your smoker to 250°F using Hickory or Mesquite wood.

  2. Form your ground beef into 1/2 lb patties, ensuring they are even in thickness. User your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

  3. Season the patties liberally with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  4. Place the patties directly on the smoker grate.

  5. Smoke until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.

  6. Optional, In the last 5 minutes, top with cheese to let it melt.

  7. Remove from teh smoker and let them rest for 5 minutes before building your burgers.
